Everyone Needs a bit of Motivation

At various points in our school year, we need a little "pick-me-up" with reminders of why our school is important for some of our students. I love creating a few new posters each year to rotate on and off my bulletin boards. Sometimes we need to have a conversation about what the phrase, sentence, or quote. This opens up so many great opportunities for teachable moments about being a citizen, empowering themselves, or setting goals.
The list goes on and on!!

Here are a few of some of my favorites!

You can find these and others on my teachers pay teachers site. Enjoy!

Beginning to Share

Oh how our worlds have changed in the education world!! Common Core this and Common Core that! I find myself understanding the need for change and the focused standards that have been created. However, I find that we don't have the resources to help our children reach those new standards and beyond.

My new found love - learning close reading strategies! So many great questions come to mind and only helps me move forward to be a better teacher, making our class conversations more rigorous and productive, and above all helping our students to become productive citizens of our community by being able to compete and contribute worldwide!

Here's to progress and forward thinking! Creating thinkers for tomorrow's jobs, not yet invented.
